This site is distinguished by the presence of the mausoleum (dahma) of the poet Ziyovuddin Haziniy (1867–1923), who was born in the village of Katta Kenagas in Uchko‘prik District. The complex also includes the family burial vault of the poet’s descendants, notably the mausoleum of one of Haziniy’s ancestors, Nabirahoja, as well as a chillakhona (a secluded cell for spiritual retreat), which occupies a special place within the site.
In particular, the historian and scholar Po‘latjon Kayumov, in his work “Tazkirai Qayumiy,” provides the following information about the poet Haziniy: Haziniy was born in a village called Kenagas near Kokand, into a family of eshons (religious leaders). His father was from a lineage of shaykhs. The poet’s given name was Ziyodxon To‘ra, the son of Doniyolxon To‘ra. After completing primary school in his village, he went to the city and enrolled in the Madrasai Jome, where he studied Arabic grammar (sarf and nahv) and lexicology, though he did not complete his studies. Strongly influenced by Sufi spirituality, he reflected on the work “Hikmat” by Khoja Ahmad Yassavi and began reading mystical poetry.
Address: Katta Kenagas village, Uchko‘prik District.
